Market Report 27 November 23

Can you believe its less than four weeks until Christmas?

It has been a couple of weeks since our last market report as we have been chasing our tail as the silly season rapidly approaches.

  • As is usual for this time of year prices have been fairly consistent as supply of most lines is pretty good. Broccoli has been up but come back down with a thud this week.

  • Strawberry and blueberry prices have firmed as demand outstrips local supply.  This is likely to change if good weather continues and production ramps up.  Raspberries were the surprise value find this week and are retailing for just $3- a punnet

  • We have also been spoilt by one of our bigger growers with a super deal on breakfast flat mushrooms, out they go for just $3.99kg

  • Tomatoes, pumpkin and mangoes have been a little short on supply and the slightly elevated prices will likely hold for another week or so.    Market agents tell me that mangoes will likely be in short supply and remain expensive at least until Christmas

  • Luckily cherries apricots, nectarines and peaches are all in good supply and eating well.

  • The countdown to Christmas has begun!

  • Cheers, Dean
